JAPAN

Who is Japan in relationship to the Global View of interconnectivity?
There are many unseen factors and forces in play. While the majority of the Western World had never seen or visited Japan in recent years, the Great Eastern Earthquake in 2011 seemed to start a shift in the field. A kind of new awareness began emerging from the 瓦礫 = がれき = rubble; and the paradigm has been slowly shifting ever since.

But still, it is important to start from the beginning. And the beginning is embedded in the historical role of 神道教 = しんと = Shinto. Shinto is considered a part of Japanese ethics tradition that incorporates the worship of nature spirits and ancestors and a belief in sacred (神) power. Watsuji Tetsuro likens it to the layers of a tree. New things are continually introduced and adding layers; however; this does not destroy the old. It is layered upon and continues to exist and work in the center (受賞的 = じゅそうてき = jusouteki = multi-layered.)

“It is like a bamboo grove whose root system has taken deep root beneath the earth - which connects every tree with each other. It is a deep flexible structure that can resiliently respond to earthquakes and storms with out facing the danger of destruction.

It is this 心 = kokoro = heart/mind that is the deep structure of Japan’s collective unconscious”.
